Overview

Explore all non‑stop flights from any airport. The Direct Flights service lists every non‑stop flight departing from more than 3,200 airports operated by over 580 airlines and displays the routes on a 3D interactive map.

Features

• Destinations – Browse all destinations served by any airline or airport (e.g., “Where can I fly from Oakland?” or “Which airports are served by Southwest?”).
• Statistics – View comprehensive statistics for worldwide airports and airlines.
• Schedules – Access weekly flight schedules for each route.
• Booking – Find the cheapest direct, one‑way flights and book them directly.

Technical Architecture

The front end is built with React and Node.js. The back end runs Python with Celery workers and is deployed on Google Kubernetes Engine. Route maps are rendered using HTML5 Canvas via react-konva, while zoom interactions are handled with SVG powered by D3 plugins.
