Overview

GitHut 2.0 extends the original githut.info project by analyzing GitHub’s extensive repository data. As the world’s largest code host, GitHub offers a public API that enables access to its vast event and interaction dataset. By examining language usage across these repositories, developers can gauge programming language popularity and uncover each language’s distinct characteristics.

Data Sources

• GitHub Public API – Provides raw event and repository data.
• GitHub Archive – Aggregates and stores the API output for easier access.
• Google BigQuery – Hosts the GitHub Archive dataset, from which GitHut 2.0 extracts its quantitative metrics.
