Vite (pronounced /vit/, French for “fast”) is a build tool designed to deliver a quicker and leaner development experience for modern web projects. It comprises two main components:

Development Server

• Offers enhanced features over native ES modules, such as extremely fast Hot Module Replacement (HMR).

Build Command

• Bundles your code with Rollup, pre‑configured to produce highly optimized static assets suitable for production.

Vite is opinionated and ships with sensible defaults out of the box. At the same time, it remains highly extensible through its Plugin API and JavaScript API, both fully typed.
